  ...driving for success

Business - homepage

Erewash Means Business

The needs of business within the Borough are promoted by Erewash Partnership.

In addition to Erewash Borough Council, the Partnership involves more than 200 private sector businesses, Southern Derbyshire Chamber, Derbyshire County Council, Business Link Southern Derbyshire and representatives from education and the community.

Since it was launched in 1994, its impressive list of achievements includes raising private sector funding for CCTV in Long Eaton and Ilkeston, advising new firms and small businesses on help from public and private sources, helping to secure Government and European funding including £2.5m for Cotmanhay and raising Erewash's profile within the region.

The Borough is fortunate to have a diverse industrial base ranging from traditional manufacturing companies such as furniture manufacturers Wade Furniture Group and ductile iron pipe producers Stanton Plc, to high-tech companies such as Atlas Composites Ltd , makers of carbon fibre composite components.

Erewash has an excellent workforce which is very skills orientated and has adapted to modern production methods and new technology.

The Borough has the advantage of being centrally located in the UK near to Junction 25 of the M1. East Midlands Airport which is less than 30 minutes drive away provides air freight and passenger services. InterCity rail services are provided at Long Eaton Railway Station.
